About Color Pencil Run

Color Pencil Run was created by OSA Studio. Poki lists a January 2025 release and supports desktop, phone, and tablet play. The controls are intentionally narrow: swipe left/right on mobile, or use A/D or the left/right arrow keys on desktop.

The pencil draws a colored trail as it advances. Matching-color pickups increase its size, while wrong colors and traps reduce it. That makes lane choice more important than raw speed because the character already handles forward movement for you.

At the end of a stage, the pencil passes through a sequence of blocks that cut it down. The longer the pencil is when it arrives, the farther it survives through the slicing sequence. There is no need for a complicated results screen: the remaining length is the result.

This also changes how you should judge risk near the end. A matching pickup is useful, but not if reaching it requires crossing a red obstacle. Preserving existing length can be worth more than chasing one extra piece in a dangerous lane.

How to Play Color Pencil Run

Move left or right while the pencil runs forward automatically. Lane choice matters more than speed.

Steer the Pencil. Collect matching-color pieces to increase size.
Avoid Wrong Colors and Red Traps. Those pickups and obstacles reduce the pencil instead of growing it.
Protect Length Near the Finish. Carry as much length as possible into the slicer rather than forcing a last-second collection through red obstacles.
Spend Coins Between Runs. Use coins to improve the pencil and unlock additional pencil-head designs.

The finish slicer makes the run easy to read. Remaining length is the result: the longer the pencil, the farther it survives through the slicing blocks.

Tips and Strategy

Look two or three pickups ahead so a correct color does not pull you into a trap immediately afterward. Prioritize safe matching pieces over risky zigzags; losing length costs more than missing one pickup.

Near the finish, protect the pencil you already have instead of forcing a last-second collection through red obstacles. Use coins between runs to improve progression and unlock new pencil-head designs.

Practical Tips

Read Ahead. A matching pickup is not worth it if the next tile is a red trap in the same lane.
Stay Safe Over Greedy. Missing one piece is cheaper than slicing off the length you already built.
Protect the Finish. Remaining length is the score. Do not cross red obstacles for one extra collection at the end.
Spend Coins Between Runs. Upgrades and pencil-head unlocks are the long-term loop around short attempts.
